Artie first stepped into radio as a sports reporter in 1969 in his home town of Shepparton at 3SR, but moved into TV for a number of years developing multi-skilling at GMV-6, ATN-7, GTV-9 and ATV-0.
In the mid-80’s radio gave him a recall, working at 3KZ/KZFM/Gold 104 Melbourne, including a stint in the newsroom during the Gulf War.
In late 2004 he set up AIR News and for almost 15 years helped build it to where it is today.
In mid-2020 he retired from the breakfast news grind, but continues to produce The World for AIR News and will remain part of the reporting team for Victoria as well as delivering stories through AIR News media’s international associate Feature Story News.
